September 2026 Volunteer of the Month: Amesha Peel of Jackson County

The Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund (ASPSF) is proud to recognize Amesha Peel of Jackson County as our September 2026 Volunteer of the Month.

Amesha joined ASPSF as a volunteer last October after hearing Program Manager Joy Smith talk about the organization’s impact at a Jackson County Resource Coalition meeting.

“The impact is undeniable; hearing the testimonies from several alumni recipients, how without ASPSF they may not be where they are in life,” she said. “Some shared how they obtained multiple degrees. Others shared that because of ASPSF’s help, they were able to focus on school and not be overwhelmed by life as much. Overall, the families received help at the times in life they needed it the most.”

Since then, Amesha has provided invaluable support to the ASPSF community by reviewing applications, facilitating workshops, and making fundraising calls.

Amesha describes herself as a “natural volunteer at heart,” and her reason for pouring into ASPSF is simple. “I know that every moment spent volunteering, another family is receiving the help they need to complete their goals,” she said.

Amesha and the entire ASPSF community understand that supporting single parents has a ripple effect.

It’s because of volunteers like Amesha that ASPSF is able to continue providing life-changing support to single parents across Arkansas.
