Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund (ASPSF) is excited to announce a new member to its Board of Directors.

The Board elected Carrie Terry of Cedarville in January to a three-year term. Terry is the Community Outreach Coordinator at Oklahoma City-based OG&E and an alumna of the ASPSF scholarship program.

“As a former recipient, I understand how ASPSF’s holistic support helps students break the cycle of poverty and build a secure future through education,” she said. “I bring experience in partnerships, strategy, and community engagement to advance ASPSF’s mission.”

Terry earned her bachelor’s from the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith and is a graduate of both Leadership Crawford County and Leadership Fort Smith. A proud mother of four children, she serves on the Board of Directors for Community Services Clearinghouse, the Van Buren Boys & Girls Club, and Fort Smith Public Schools Partners in Education. She also serves on the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce Education Committee.

“Carrie brings both lived experience and deep professional expertise to our Board,” ASPSF Board President Maret Cahill Wicks said. “As a former ASPSF scholar and a seasoned community engagement leader, she understands firsthand what it takes to end single parent poverty through education.”

In December, the ASPSF Board elected five new members. Now, with Terry, the 2026 Board has a total of 16 leaders ready to guide the nonprofit in its mission to end single parent poverty through higher education.
