Behind The Board: Mike Weaver
Meet Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund (ASPSF) Board Member Mike Weaver. Mike brought his financial expertise to ASPSF’s Finance committee.
This committee is the heartbeat that ensures ASPSF maintains a balanced budget, manages its assets and liabilities wisely, and awards scholarships in accordance with grantors’ and donors’ wishes. ASPSF is only able to fulfill our mission because of volunteers like Mike, who dedicate their time and their skills to our students.
Mike first joined ASPSF as a board member for the local Green County Single Parent Scholarship Fund in 2016. Following the affiliate’s merger with the state organization, he brought his expertise to support and lead statewide efforts serving single parent students.
In December, Mike completed his Board term, but we know he won’t be a stranger to ASPSF. He shared that he will continue to help with interviewing scholarship applicants in Northeast Arkansas – one of his favorite ways to give back.
Thank you, Mike, for your many years of service to ASPSF and to the parents we serve.

How did you find out about ASPSF?
I was introduced to the organization when I worked in the Paragould market. A fellow banker was on the local Greene County SPSF board and reached out to see if I’d be interested in helping out locally as a volunteer.
Share a favorite moment with ASPSF:
My favorite part of being involved with ASPSF is the interview phase each semester. Being able to sit in on the interviews and hear the students explain their situations, their hardships, and their motivations really helps keep first things first with respect to our mission here at ASPSF.
