Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund (ASPSF) congratulates the Spring 2026 scholarship recipients from the counties of Clay, Craighead, Greene, Mississippi, and Poinsett in Northeast Arkansas.
Thanks to the support of local donors and state funding, ASPSF awarded scholarships in Northeast Arkansas totaling $121,200 to 88 single parents pursuing associate degrees, bachelor’s degrees, and skilled-trade certificates. The single parents were honored at awards ceremonies at St. Bernards Auditorium in Jonesboro on October 18 and Arkansas Northeastern College in Blytheville on October 20.
ASPSF’s flexible scholarship of up to $1,600 helps low-income single parents pay for the biggest financial obstacles to obtaining a degree, leading to a career with family-supporting wages. The monetary aid is paired with mentoring, financial instruction, and career coaching — the soft skill training that transforms students into sought-after employees.

Arkansas State University-Newport student Mokebia Calicutt of Craighead County receives her 2026 Fall scholarship certificate.
“This scholarship has helped ease the financial pressure of balancing college, work, and raising my son,” said Fall 2026 recipient and Arkansas State University-Newport student Mokebia Calicutt of Craighead County. “It has allowed me to focus more on my education while continuing to provide for my family. More than financial assistance, this program has reminded me that I am supported and capable of reaching my goals. Their generosity is helping me build a better future for myself, my son, and the families I hope to serve one day.”
Local ASPSF volunteers Ameilia Robinson, LaShea Robinson, Marti Little, and Tonya Harris assisted at the Jonesboro ceremony as well as Cayla Cole from Arkansas State University. Other guest volunteers at the Jonesboro event included: Edward Robinson and Elyse Williams from The Academies at Jonesboro High School; Christopher, Elida Renteria, and Xavier Lynch from Nettleton High School; Aron Bagocsi from Pocahontas High School; and Kezariah Bohanon from Annie Camp Junior High School. ASPSF volunteers Denese Bogard and Tyler Dunegan helped with the Blytheville event.
