The Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund (ASPSF) is proud to recognize Jennifer Scott of Boone County as its April 2026 Volunteer of the Month. A dedicated volunteer, former scholarship recipient, and passionate advocate for single parents, Jennifer embodies the heart of ASPSF’s mission — to provide financial and practical support to single parents in Arkansas seeking a higher education degree.

For nearly a decade, Jennifer has given her time, energy, and compassion to support single parent students in her community. Whether she’s assisting behind the scenes or connecting directly with families, her willingness to serve has made a lasting impact.

“Jennifer helps with everything,” ASPSF Program Manager Kim Paul-Williams said. “She has helped work the United Way golf tournament and Ride the Ozarks Rally every year. She also helps with applications, reviews, interviews, fundraising, everything!”

Jennifer’s commitment to ASPSF runs deep. As a former scholarship recipient herself, she understands firsthand the challenges single parents face while pursuing higher education, and the life changing difference support can make. Now, she gives back by encouraging others to stay the course and believe in what’s possible.

A mother of five, Jennifer has balanced family, education, and service with determination and resilience. She purchased her first home at age 40 and is currently continuing her own educational journey by pursuing a bachelor’s degree, an accomplishment that reflects her belief in lifelong growth and opportunity.

“Anyone can do it,” said Jennifer about returning to school. “I remind students that it will all be worth it for them and their families.”

In addition to her extensive volunteer work, Jennifer values the relationships she’s built through ASPSF and the sense of community that keeps her involved year after year.

She added, “I love working with Kim and all of our volunteers. We have a great team!”

ASPSF is deeply grateful for Jennifer’s years of dedication and the encouragement she offers to single parents striving for a better future. Volunteers like Jennifer are essential to the success of the program and the families it serves.

Thank you, Jennifer, for giving back to ASPSF and helping single parent families on their journey to a better life!
