Donations Matched on Giving Tuesday to Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund
Thanksgiving reminds us of what matters most: family, perseverance, and the power of community. That gratitude can be forwarded on Giving Tuesday on Dec. 2 with a gift to the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund (ASPSF).
Giving Tuesday donations to the 501(c)(3) organization are tax-deductible and will be matched dollar for dollar thanks to generous anonymous supporters. That means any gift will go twice as far in helping local single parents continue their education, strengthen their earning power, and build brighter futures for their children.

“I truly appreciate your support, which will greatly help me pursue my education and goals,” fall 2025 recipient Destinee Savage said. “Your generous contribution motivates me to work hard and excel in my studies. I am grateful for this opportunity and look forward to making the most of it!”

“Balancing my studies while supporting my son has been challenging, but I refuse to let negativity affect me,” she said. “I will continue to wear a smile and set a positive example for him. In the future, he will be able to say that his mother didn’t give up; instead, she sought help from a community of individuals in similar situations and built a strong foundation of support.”
Funds raised on Giving Tuesday help provide more than tuition assistance to help single parent students like Savage. ASPSF scholarships help recipients cover essential needs that often derail their academic progress, such as reliable transportation, child care gaps, technology for online classes, and unexpected emergencies. Every dollar helps a parent stay in school and on track to graduate.
This year, ASPSF awarded over 1,300 scholarships totaling $1.8 million this year across 69 counties in Arkansas, including Bowie County, Texas. Along with financial aid, staff and volunteers provide mentoring, career coaching, and workshops to help recipients balance school, work, and parenting.
These single parent scholarships are made possible thanks to generous donors, organizations, schools, businesses, and foundations who believe in the incredible power of education.
