Be sure Adobe® Reader® 8.1 or above is installed on your computer.

Click on a form link to open the form, then use the Typewriter tool to type text anywhere on the form pages:

  • From the Tools menu click Typewriter > Show Typewriter Toolbar, and then click the Typewriter button.
  • Click your cursor where you want to type. Begin typing. Press Enter to add a second line.
  • To change the size of text, select the text and click the Decrease Text Size button or the Increase Text Size button in the Typewriter toolbar.
  • To change the line spacing, select the text and click the Decrease Line Spacing button or the Increase Line Spacing button.
  • To move or resize a block of text, click on the block of text to show its borders then drag the text block or one of its corners.
  • To edit the text again, select the Typewriter tool, and then double-click in the Typewriter text.

Be sure to save a copy of the completed application form to your computer.

Application Deadlines:

  • Spring semester: November 30
  • Summer semester: April 30
  • Fall semester: July 1

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Resident of Hempstead County, Arkansas for at least 30 days preceding the deadline for receipt of completed application.
  • Single head of household (never married, separated, divorced, or widowed) with legal custody and sole responsibility of one or more children under the age of 18.
  • Pursuing a career-oriented course of study (full or part-time) to ensure a better standard of living for his/her family.
  • Enrolled in an accredited, public or private non-profit post-secondary school in a program providing marketable skills to achieve self-sufficiency. Applicants cannot already have earned an undergraduate degree with the exception of a student who's working towards a Master of Arts in Education.
  • Recipient of, or in the process of obtaining a Pell Grant.
  • Low-income person at or near poverty level.
  • Have maintained a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
